Service Canada AI Assistant
Last updated: August 20, 2025
The Service Canada AI Assistant (“the App”) is designed to help Canadians access publicly available information about government programs and services using artificial intelligence. Your privacy is important to us. This policy outlines what data we do — and more importantly, do not — collect when you use this app.
We do not collect, store, or share any personal information. Specifically:
The App does not require you to sign in or create an account.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or Social Insurance Number (SIN).
We do not use cookies or tracking technologies.
We do not access your location, contacts, photos, microphone, or device storage.
We do not log any questions or responses generated within the app.
The App uses OpenAI’s language model to generate responses based on your input. The responses are generated in real time and are not stored by the app. Your queries are transmitted securely to OpenAI’s API and processed anonymously. The App does not retain any of this information.
This app does not include:
Analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase)
Advertising frameworks or SDKs
Third-party marketing tools
The App relies on OpenAI’s API to process user input and generate responses. OpenAI may process inputs temporarily for quality and safety monitoring, as per their own Privacy Policy. However, the App does not share any identifying information with OpenAI or any third party.
Although we do not store user data, we take appropriate steps to ensure that all communications between the App and the OpenAI API are encrypted and securely transmitted using HTTPS.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes through the App Store listing.
